By Bob Blackburn and Jim Argo, published by the Oklahoma Historical Society, 2005, in print

Review: Bob Blackburn is someone I admire - he has been a big influence on both Jack and I as we've endeavored to learn more and more about Oklahoma City's history. Likewise, Jim Argo was a longtime editor at The Oklahoman - someone with whom we both shared laughs and debates over some 15 years until he retired.

Bob and Jim have collaborated on several great projects, and this collection of photos from The Oklahoman could have been a must-have for any local history enthusiast. I've seen the photo archives, and sadly, I must say this book doesn't represent the best the paper has to offer. It's a difficult task, choosing from thousands of photos - and some of the chosen images are truly stunning. But others are way too familiar, and that's my main complaint. Otherwise, this is a fine publication.
